MAPS reschedules strategic planning sessions
Marquette Area Public Schools has announced that public input meetings set for later this month have been postponed until early October. MAPS has partnered with the Michigan Association of School Boards to develop a comprehensive strategic plan.
The district says the planning process is designed to produce 4 to 5 priority goals to be accomplished over a 3-5 year period. The plan uses data – along with the ideas of staff, students, and community members – to help the Board of Education identify priority goals that will help make the district be an even better place for young people.
MAPS is looking to get ideas from parents and community members about the strengths of the district – along with opinions from the public in areas where there is potential for improvement.
The revised input session listed below has been established:
Tuesday, October 2, 2012, Bothwell Middle School Café, 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, Sandy Knoll Elementary – Library, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012, Superior Hills Elementary Media Center, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
School officials say all responses at face-to-face meetings and those received electronically will be anonymous and handled confidentially.
