Marquette Beach Cleanup & Restoration Event

This Friday, The Superior Watershed Partnership is welcoming volunteers to join the Lake Superior Volunteer Corps for a beach cleanup and restoration event along a Marquette’s shoreline.

Volunteers can join The Corps anytime between noon to 2:30 pm from McCarty’s Cove towards Picnic Rocks. They will remove litter and invasive species as well as plant beach grass.

G-L-C-C Program Manager Tyler Penrod is excited being that this volunteer event will have opportunities for everyone to contribute, learn, and help protect Lake Superior and our Marquette beaches.”

Additionally, Travel Marquette will provide tools, materials, work gloves, and refreshments.

If you plan on volunteering they do recommend being ready for the weather with appropriate clothing, sunscreen, and rain gear.
