Local Thrift Shop Prepares for Operation Winter Wear
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Silver Creek Thrift Shop prepares to hand out coats and other winter items to those in need.
For the past six years, Silver Creek Thrift has been participating in Operation Winter Drive.
Beginning on November 11th and going through the 14th, the store will be handing out coats and other winter clothing items to anyone that shows up.
Director Barbara Markiewicz says, “Operation Winter Wear is where we give coats, snow pants, boots. Whatever we have to anyone that needs in the community.”
Silver Creek is has set a goal of 350 coats or clothing items to hand out to the community.
The donations can be for any size, gender or age and the volunteers will sort them and get them to those in need.
“Hoping to meet whatever needs we can, people do need to call ahead of time to make an appointment, it’s a little bit different this year than how we usually do it. That’s why it is more days we are having it.”
If you are interested in donating you can drop-off coats and other items or call 906-249-1715.
