One in critical condition after severe accident
FORD RIVER TOWNSHIP — One man is in critical condition following a two–vehicle accident on M–69 near 14th street in Ford River Township.
After investigation, it was revealed that a 38–year–old man from Gladstone was driving southbound in a pickup truck and crossed the center line on M–69, and collided head–on with a sedan traveling northbound.
The northbound sedan was driven by a 51–year–old Escanaba man, who was airlifted by Valley Med to UPHS Marquette for treatment of injuries, where he remains in critical condition.
The Gladstone man was treated at OSF Hospital for minor injuries, where he was then released and lodged in the Delta County Jail.
Drugs and alcohol are suspected to be a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Gladstone post were assisted on scene by Hannahville Police, DNR officers, Michigan State Police Motor Carrier, Rampart, Valley Med, and local first responders.
