Two vehicle car accident still under investigation

GLADSTONE — Troopers from the Gladstone Post were dispatched to a crash involving two passenger vehicles on M69 near 14th Rd in Ford River Twp on November 8th at approximately 9:46 am.
 
Investigation at the scene revealed, the driver of a pickup truck was traveling south bound on M69, crossed the centerline, and crashed head on with a north bound vehicle. The driver of the pickup is a 38-year-old man from Gladstone and the sedan was operated by a 51-year-old Escanaba man. Valley Med airlifted the Escanaba man to MGH where he remains in critical condition. The Gladstone man was treated at OSF hospital for minor injury, released, and lodged at the Delta County Jail. Investigation continues into the factors involved in the accident and alcohol and drugs are suspected be a factor.
 
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Hannahville Police, DNR officers, MSP Motor Carrier, Rampart, Valley Med, and local first responders.
