Parcel 13 could soon be owned by NTN

MARQUETTE — The Marquette City Commission Board talked today about the possible future sale of parcel 13.

The board members saw the potential for the sale when the Noquemanon Trail Network (NTN) showed interest in ownership of the land.
The NTN currently has structures on the land and they are said to have future plans to construct restrooms on the site.
With this sale this would allow the group to take ownership of the land and to develop it further, but if a sale is made there will be a development agreement placed within the sale.

“Part of the sale agreement will have a development agreement as well,” explained Mike Angeli, Marquette City Manager. “So we will have some understanding of what they will build or develop if they do in fact purchase it.”

The city commission members vote 7-0 in approval of the idea to sell Parcel 13.
Now for the city to sell the land they will need to follow the city ordinance.
The ordinance states the land must be sold nothing below 80% of the appraised value of the property.
