Changes ahead for a downtown restaurant and bar

MARQUETTE — Under many changes of ownership, the restaurant and bar in downtown Marquette known as the Recovery Room has a new owner yet again.

The sale isn’t completed just yet, but they’re expecting a takeover within the next month or so.

They plan on shutting down the restaurant joint for a short period of time for a menu change, slight remodeling and training of staff.

They are looking to introduce a fresh Irish American Theme to add something different to the downtown area.

“More choices, I think we need that here. There are a lot of different types of personalities that live here and are moving here. The more choices we have as far as eateries, bars and recreational. This is what will enhance the value of Marquette,” said David Stefan, Owner / Partner of Elder Agency.

A new name for the restaurant and bar has not been disclosed yet.

They’re hoping to be the stop for the $3 Guinness pint to carry that Irish theme on.
