Baraga woman injured in personal injury crash

HOUGHTON COUNTY — The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one car, personal injury accident on Saturday, September 15th on Massie Road near Lehtola Road in Chassell Township.

A 2008 Saturn car was being driven by 25-year-old Baraga resident, Alyyson Denomie, when she lost control of the vehicle, and went into a ditch and struck a large tree. Denomie was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash. Denomie had to be extricated from the car using the Hurontown Fire Department’s Jaws of Life.

Denomie was transported to Portage Health Systems for treatment of her injuries, and was later admitted. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the incident.
