One dead in two vehicle accident
ISHPEMING — On July 2nd, 2018 at approximately 2:28 pm, Ishpeming Police Department responded to a two vehicle accident on US 41 at the intersection of Malton Rd.
Officers determined that Terry Orlich, a 64 year old Marquette man was driving a 2018 white Lincoln Navigator heading westbound on US 41 approaching the intersection.
A northbound 2005 brown LeSabre failed to yield the right of way and attempted to cross US 41 to get into a parking lot. The car pulled directly into the path of the Navigator which caused the accident.
The LeSabre was driven by Robert Emanuelson, a 85 year old Champion man. The Navigator was unable to avoid the collision and caused the Navigator to strike the LeSabre’s on its passenger side.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene of the accident, where the passenger of the LeSabre, Carrie Emanuelson, a 82 year old Champion woman died on scene.
The investigation of the accident is being left open at this time.
