Fourth of July Festivities underway

MARQUETTE — The 4th of July is one of the best times of the summer and this year that will be no different.

The Fourth of July Celebration Committee brings together the Exchange Club Rotary Kiwanis and Chamber of Commerce to plan all the fourth of July activities.

This year they are planning the International Food Fest, The Fourth of July Parade and the Fireworks.

It’s always an exciting time of year to see everyone come together as a community.

“To see the chairs lining the streets at like 6 o clock in the morning, people getting excited. The food fest is always hoping and a great place to meet up with friends. The fireworks are just so special at the Ore Dock and Lower Harbor. It’s just such a great community event and you see people from all walks of life and ages, experiences. They are all just out celebrating together and that’s really special,” said Victoria Leonhardt, Marquette 4th of July Celebration Committee Co Chair.

This year the fireworks are going to choreographed to music and there will be a special tribute to the late Tom Baldini.

They are in major need of volunteers for these events. If you’re interested in volunteering click HERE.
