ISHPEMING — Thursday afternoon, the Marquette County Democratic Party held their annual Summer Sizzle Barbecue in Ishpeming.
Ken Summers, Sara Cambensy, and others joined for the celebration, marking the hard work that members have put into the election cycle. The event is to allow the public to meet with candidates running in upcoming elections, and political figures who are currently representing the area.
“It’s a time when they can ask questions, because sometimes you get out there and you don’t know what to ask because you’re ‘right there,’ but this time it’s more informal – it’s a picnic type environment,” said Marquette County Democratic Party Chair, Carolyn Hietamaki. “It’s a beautiful day, people are relaxed – we have brats, good food, and good people.”
The 2018 primary elections will be held in August.
