ISHPEMING — For the normal nine-to-fiver, it may be hard to shop for anything other than groceries after work. One local business is working to change that.

Thursday nights are now reserved for pop-up shops, and will provide late night shopping and art classes.

“I went to the other businesses and asked if they wanted to stay open late on Thursdays, kind of leading into the Christmas activities that downtown always has, I know it’s hard for the working people to get out and get to a business before 5 o’clock. So this gives them that option,” said owner Stacey Willey

Earthly Treasures is spearheading the movement with weekly options for art classes, featuring local and national artists.

“I’m happy to be able to support the arts in our community; we have so many talented people. So it’s really nice to be able to support the talent we have in the area,” said Willey.

The events begin tomorrow when Sarah May and Andreas Hub come to showcase watercolor and woodworking. For more information, you can visit Earthly Treasures on Division Street in Ishpeming or on their Facebook page.
