UPDATE: Missing boat found

The missing boat was recovered approximately 200 yards from the owner’s home. The boat originally got off the shore station due to high winds and waves.

PORTAGE TOWNSHIP — Police are investigating a missing boat out of Portage Township.

Deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Department say they are looking for a blue and white Sylvan 17-foot open bow boat. The boat has a 115 hp Evinrude outboard motor on the rear along with a 6 hp Mercury small outboard motor.

The boat in question was docked on a shore station along the shoreline near 46189 US-41 in Houghton. If you have any information, you can contact the sheriff’s department at 482-0055 or the Coast Guard at 482-3253.
