ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Members of the South Range Volunteer Fire Department are being credited with finding two missing men early Friday morning in Adams Township.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post were called at 11:10 p.m. Thursday on a report of two men in their 60’s who went riding on their ORV’s and never returned. The wife of one of the men notified police and a search party was organized.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., both men were located by the fire department. They became stuck in the Beacon Hill area near the Freda Location.

It took several hours to free themselves. No injuries were reported.

The Michigan DNR, Houghton County Sheriff’s Department, Superior Search and Rescue, Adams Township First Responders and the South Range VFD all assisted in the search.
