ESCANABA– State Representative Beau LaFave is back in the Upper Peninsula this week.
And he’s spending his time away from Lansing meeting with his constituents in Delta, Dickinson and Menominee counties. LaFave spent his Tuesday afternoon at Escanaba City Hall, discussing state government with a number of citizens.
Those who attended asked about legislation going on in Lansing right now as well as his position of a variety of different issues affecting the state. LaFave said that although constituents could reach out to him in Lansing, it was important to meet them in person.
“I love coming and doing town halls like this, office hours I call it, and just hearing the concerns on the ground,” Representative LaFave said. “Of course I can always read things in an email or listen to voice mails and call back and forth, but to put a face to a concern is really important.”
Representative LaFave will continue his office hours Wednesday in Menominee and next Tuesday in Stephenson.
