MARQUETTE — A newly formed group held its first protest today in hopes of stopping other protests in the future.
The Citizens Opposing Whining, or ‘C.O.W.’ held a small rally Friday afternoon in front of the U.S. Post Office in Downtown Marquette. John Taylor created the group in hopes of stopping millennials from joining in on other protests.
Taylor says Friday’s rally was all about protesting what he calls ’cause fatigue.’
“We are a group of very unconcerned citizens who are tied of not being able to come to the post office without some worthy cause vying for our attention and nagging at our conscience,” said Taylor. “We would like clear, quiet streets again so that we can be oblivious to the needs of this community and be content with our own lives.”

“We feel the need to stand up for our right to not stand up for our right. It seems that our entire generation is being conscripted into protest after protest of greatly meaningful things, but no one, no one cares about those don’t care except us,” he added.
The rally lasted for about two hours. Citizens Opposing Whining plans on holding other protests in the area in the near future.
