MARQUETTE — MSHS cross country runner Lindsey Rudden signed her National Letter of Intent Wednesday to run for the Michigan State Spartans next year. The senior is coming off a fantastic season where she earned her first MHSAA cross country championship and she’s looking to carry over her success to the collegiate level.

“I’m hoping I can make an impact on the team throughout my five years. I want to be an All–American. That’s my ultimate goal. And to win a national championship would be cool with my team to repeat,” Rudden said.

She’s a born and bred Yooper so she was asked Rudden what’s it going to be like to move away from family and friends.

“I’m kind of excited to get away. I’ve been here my whole entire life so it will be nice change. I’m sure I’ll miss my parents and my little brother,” said Rudden.

Rudden plans to major in kinesiology at Michigan State.
