Dinner’s on us: local restaurant hosts meal for vets
GWINN — Veteran’s Day is an important holiday for many Americans, as we take time to thank our service men and women for their sacrifices.
The Up North Lodge in Gwinn felt the best way to say thank you was with a hot meal. The restaurant invited veterans down for a free meal as a thank you for the sacrifices made for their country.
“It’s just our way of saying thank you for their service. It is amazing to me and to all of us here what our military, both active and retired, continue to do, and have done in the past for our country and it’s our way of saying thank you!” said Sally Searle, co–owner of the Up North Lodge, “It amazes me how grateful veterans are for what we do for them. It’s what they’ve done for us!”
Veterans could choose between a quarter rack of ribs, burgers, sandwiches, pasta dishes, or Mexican entrees.
