MARQUETTE — Marquette County’s new Register of Deeds, Carla L’Huillier, was sworn into office in Probate Court today.

She’s already been serving in the position for one week, but she said being sworn in helps it feel real.

Friends and family were on hand to congratulate her after taking her oath and she said she’s ready for what’s to come.

“I consider it a very big honor to be in this position,” L’Huillier said. “It’s very emotional for me; I’ve been working here for 17 years. I’ve always enjoyed working with the public and I hope to continue doing that for many more years. I welcome anyone to stop by our office, anytime.”

L’Huillier was selected to finish the current term of former Register of Deeds Patricia Manley, who retired on October 3rd. L’Huillier plans to run for her own four-year term in 2016.
