Stolen vehicle catches on fire in Houghton
HOUGHTON — The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle theft that happened Wednesday night in Hurontown.
Police say a black 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen from a residence at around 9 p.m. The vehicle was located Thursday morning behind the Country Inn and Suites in Houghton. The vehicle was on fire and is deemed a total loss.
There are so suspects at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.

The Houghton City Fire Department, Houghton City Police Department, and the Michigan State Police assisted at the scene.
