She Kills Monsters headed for Forest Roberts Theatre
Anyone who’s ever delved into the world of Dungeons and Dragons knows it can be a difficult place to escape from, as fantasy morphs into reality.
The Forest Roberts Theatre is portraying that struggle in it’s latest production, entitled “She Kills Monsters.”
The mystical play centers on a 25-year-old Ohio school teacher named Agnes who is leaving her childhood home after her entire family was killed in a car accident. Before heading out into the unknown, Agnes finds the last semblance of her little sister Tilly in the form of a Dungeons and Dragons notebook. She is quickly sucked in and begins an epic journey to save Tilly’s soul.
“She is fighting off monsters in the game but the monsters are turning out to be her inner demons in a way. For me it was really interesting to try and embody the character of Tilly because she is basically the figment of my sisters Agnes’ imagination because I am gone so trying to embody a dorky 15-year-old but also playing a powerful game character was interesting and a good experience for me,” said Laura Thompson, AKA Tilius the Paladin.
‘If we could do it, we did do it, we have awesome fight scenes, it looks so fantastic, you are constantly in awe of the different features we throw out, it keeps you on your toes,” said Cecelia Holt, AKA Agnes Evans.
The fight to vanquish Tilius the Paladin begins tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. at the Forest Roberts Theatre. The same showtime will hold true through Saturday, with an additional matinee at 1:00 p.m.
Tickets are available at the Forest Roberts Theatre Box Office. It’s $15 for the general public, and $10 for students.
