Huskies kicker earns GLIAC award
Michigan Tech kicker Garrett Mead was named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week after his record breaking performance on Saturday, Sept. 21 against Walsh.
Mead had a career day for the Huskies as they defeated the Cavaliers, 29-7. The junior kicker made a career high five field goals and accounted for 17 of Tech’s 29 points.
Mead set a school record for most field goals made in a game and most points scored by a kicker in a game. The previous record for most points scored by a kicker in a game was 13.
The 2-0 Huskies will travel to Findlay on Saturday, Sept. 28 for a game against the Oilers.
