“Where Soldiers Come From” on PBS Tonight

A film featuring Upper Michigan Army National Guard soldiers is available to watch online.

It debuts tonight on PBS, and it’s called “Where Soldiers Come From”.

The film is described as an intimate portrait of the effect that a National Guard unit’s deployment has on a group of longtime friends from the Keweenaw and the small town they left behind.

“Where Soldiers Come From” follows the four–year journey of childhood friends who join the National Guard after graduating from high school.

It follows the restless teenagers as they become soldiers looking for roadside bombs to 23–year–old combat veterans trying to start their lives again.

Besides being on TV tonight, the film will stream in its entirety on PBS’s website starting tomorrow, Veterans’ Day, and lasting until December 11th.

You’ll be able to find the film here.
