Western U.P. School Swine Flu Clinics

Parents and kids in the western U.P. are getting some good news about the swine flu.

The Western U.P. Health Department has some more doses of H1N1 vaccine.

They’re hosting clinics throughout the region starting next Wednesday.

They expect to have 1 before Christmas in every school district in Baraga, Houghton, Ontonagon and Gogebic Counties.

Parents of all students will get a letter tomorrow with the clinic locations and times.

But the vaccine is still in short supply around the country.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still have 5 priority

groups set aside:

— Pregnant women

— Anyone in contact with infants under 6 months old

— Kids and young adults from 6 months to age 24

— Adults under the age of 65 with a history of chronic illness

— Health care and EMS workers.

Anyone in those groups can go to the clinics.
