U.P. Celebrity Golf Match Party

MARQUETTE — Some billed it “the cocktail party of the season.” With Steve Mariucci in attendance and a couple of NFL kickers sprinkled in, it appears the party lived up to its billing.

Marquette Golf Club had a tent set-up on what truly was a gorgeous day. They called it a “Match Party” because this was the night the celebrities were matched with the teams they’d be playing the following day.

Green Bay Packers kicker, Mason Crosby, said, “Jay (Feely has) been trying to get me up here for a couple of years and fortunately, this year, the schedules kind of matched and I was able to come up.”

There was quite an array of food and drink available to Crosby and the rest in attendance, but the kicker was quick to remind everyone of the reason for the party.

“It’s also the fundraising aspect of the tournament for Beacon House; to obviously give people a place to stay and to help whenever loved ones are in the hospital or if they’re in the hospital themselves.”

The night also included a live auction of donated sports memorabilia, as well as music and entertainment.
