Two injured in Iron Co. accident

The Iron County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two car personal injury accident at the intersection of Highway 141 and Trapper’s Lane, Hematite Township Tuesday at 12:32 p.m.

A vehicle driven by a 61 year old Alpha resident collided with a northbound vehicle, resulting in non life threatening injuries to two people from Farmington, Michigan.

An accident investigation determined a Failure to Yield as a contributing factor in the crash. Both driver and passenger were subsequently transported to North Star Hospital, Iron River

The driver of the northbound vehicle had to be extricated from the vehicle do to the extent of the damages from the accident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Northland Towing.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Amasa Fire Department, Crystal Falls Fire Department, Northstar EMS, and Iron County Central Dispatch.
