Two car accident in Negaunee

UPDATE — Friday, November 15th

The names of the drivers involved in the accident at US-41 and Baldwin Avenue in Negaunee Thursday night have been released.

The Negaunee Police Department says 36-year-old Kelly Kurin of Negaunee drove through a red light in a 2006 Buick Lacrosse. She crashed into a 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser driven by 68-year-old Catherine Hiles of Butler, Tennessee.

Kurin was taken to Bell Hospital in Ishpeming for treatment of neck pain. Police also gave her a ticket for disregarding a stop-and-go light. Hiles was not hurt.

One person was taken to the hospital following a two car accident in Negaunee Thursday night.

The accident happened just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Baldwin Avenue.

The accident involved a tan Buick and red Jeep; the Buick was towed from the scene.

One person was taken to the hospital by Bell Hospital EMS.  The extent of injuries, or if any other people were injured, is unknown.

The Negaunee Police Department, Marquette County Sheriff’s Department, and the Negaunee Fire Department were all on scene.
