Suspicous death investigated in Marquette Co.
An autopsy is scheduled for a man whose body was found in Marquette County. Police are saying the death is suspicious.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police at the Negaunee Post found the body of a 56-year-old unidentified man in Skandia Township just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
They were dispatched to a report of a missing person complaint, and found the man’s body outside his vehicle. Police say the vehicle had caught fire and burned. Both the man and vehicle were found within a mile of the man’s residence on County Road JH in West Branch Township.
The incident remains under investigation.
Detectives from the Negaunee Post, the Michigan State Police Fire Marshall and Marquette General EMS assisted at the scene.
