Snowmobile race returning to Escanaba

Houston, Texas –  – Competitors in ice-oval snowmobile racing’s Champ 440 class will once again have the opportunity to compete for the coveted TLR CUP and their share of the $100,000+ series payout as Tommy Lipar Racing has released the 2013 TLR CUP Championship Series Schedule.

Racers from across the United States will slide into the Upper Peninsula State Fair Grounds in Escanaba , MI January 12-13 for the Second Annual Ice Masters 300.

Competitors in this race-within-a-race series will navigate their highly modified “Champ” sleds around specially prepared ice racing surfaces sanctioned by MIRA, ORA and USSA Prostar racing organizations in search of the checkered flag and precious points toward the final TLR CUP tally. The 2012 season saw the points battle fought down to the final race of the season where PJ Wanderscheid edged out Malcolm Chartier taking top honors, the “Cup” and a check for $25,000.
