Powell Township house fire
A Powell Township man is safe after a fire broke out in his home Sunday night.
Marquette County Central Dispatch says it happened in a home on County Road KK, which is also known as Huron Mountain Club Road.
Dispatchers say the homeowner was outside doing yardwork when the blaze began. He saw smoke in an area near his wood stove when he returned inside.
He got out safely, and officials say no firefighters were hurt. Fire crews were on scene for about an hour.
