Portage Lake Lift Bridge maintenance scheduled
Motorists in Houghton County are likely to encounter some traffic this week, due to maintenance of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will be working along the US-41/M-26 route between Houghton and Hancock, beginning Tuesday, October 8.
The project should be completed by Thursday, October 10.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be performing routine maintenance on the Portage Lake Lift Bridge.
This work will require additional openings of the bridge, resulting in delays for motorists of less than 10 minutes. The openings will be done during non-peak traffic times.
