New jobs created in Marquette Co.

MARQUETTE – Forty-nine Marquette County businesses have collectively created 293 new jobs in 2012 and were recognized for their participation in the Plus One Program on Wednesday, January 30 during the Lake Superior Community Partnership’s Annual Meeting and Investor Briefing held at Northern Michigan University.

 

Michigan Works! and the Lake Superior Community Partnership’s Plus One program is a program designed around the premise that an employer adding just one employee contributes to the economic development in Marquette County.  The goal of the program is to support and recognize a 1% increase in the Marquette County workforce each year.  Since the inception of the program six years ago, Marquette County businesses have created 1,781 jobs.
