MSP Memorial Day Weekend Recap

Eight people died in Michigan in seven separate traffic accidents over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

That’s according to the Michigan State Police.

In comparison, nine people died in traffic crashes during the same holiday weekend last year.

Of the eight fatalities this year, three were known to have used restraints.

Alcohol was a known factor in two of the seven wrecks.

For tracking purposes, the State Police considered Memorial Day weekend to have started at 6 pm last Friday night through midnight Monday night.
