Car accident sends one to hospital
SANDS TOWNSHIP — A minor car accident sends one person to the hospital earlier this afternoon.
At about 1:40 p.m., Stephanie Lukkonen, 19, of Gwinn turned left in front of Ethan Ledford, 19, from Marquette, causing the crash. It occurred at the area of the crossroads in Sands Township.
Afterward, Lukkonen complained of a sore neck and was transported to UP Health System Marquette for medical evaluation. She was listed at fault for the incident for failure to yield.
Both drivers were wearing their seat-belts.
