MI Jobless Rate Drops Slightly

Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment numbers for May are out.

Unemployment in May decreased by 0.4% in Michigan to 13.6%.

That’s according to the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth.

DELEG says 24,000 more Michiganders were working last month than were working in April.

That’s exactly what it had been a year earlier.

The national jobless rate was 9.7% in May, after it had been 9.9% in April.

But the U.S. rate had been 9.4% in May 2009.
