Marquette School Budget Session
School systems across the state, and across the U.P., have a lot of concerns about their budgets for this fall.
The Marquette Area Public Schools are in that category.
The district is facing a $2.5 million budget shortfall for the next school year.
In a series of budget work sessions, the Marquette school board will examine how it can cut costs.
The first of those work sessions is tonight at 6:30 at Graveraet School.
The board is looking at staff reductions, either through retirements or layoffs.
