U.P. man arrested for criminal sexual conduct

GWINN — A Gwinn man is behind bars tonight for having inappropriate contact with a neighborhood girl.

The Forsyth Township Police Department arrested 50–year–old Cory Steven Pierce Wednesday on one count of second–degree criminal sexual conduct.

That crime is a felony punishable by a maximum of 15 years in prison. Pierce is currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail on 10 percent of a 100 thousand dollar bond.

The Michigan State Police and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
