Michigan’s Junior U.S. Senator is up for re–election later this year.
And one of Debbie Stabenow’s challengers was in iron mountain Tuesday night.
Republican Peter Konetchy is from downstate Roscommon and has never held an elected office.
He calls himself a Constitutional conservative, believing the problems the country is facing stem from not following that document.
He says his philosophy is based upon the fact that the American people can take care of themselves without government assistance.
And he says the country has veered away from that since 1930 or so.
Konetchy will have to compete with former downstate Congressman Pete Hoekstra, among others, for the Republican nomination.
