Hawks Ridge Fraud Suspect Pleads Guilty

One of the 2 men still facing charges in the Marquette condo fraud case pleads guilty.

43-year-old Michael Gokey of Marquette has pleaded guilty to 1 count of building contractor fraud.

He’ll be sentenced February 19th.

Gokey was facing 3 other charges.

But prosecutors dropped those as part of a plea agreement.

This leaves only 40-year-old Joel Westrom remaining in the case.

He has his Circuit Court arraignment scheduled for January 22nd.

Westrom and Gokey were the 2 main people behind TriStar Development, the company responsible for the Hawks Ridge condominiums in Marquette.
