A Marquette man has died in a weekend ORV accident in Crystal Falls Township.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Department says he is 69-year-old David Pansier.

The accident happened shortly before 8 pm Central time Saturday on North Fence River Road, near the west branch of the Fence River.

Police say Pansier was heading east when he lost control of his four-wheeler.

He was thrown from the ORV, which then rolled over on top of him.

Friends of Pansier’s who were meeting him for dinner found him and called 911.

He died at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Department says that Pansier had been drinking and that he was not wearing a helmet.

An investigation is still ongoing, however.

Northstar EMS and the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home of Crystal Falls assisted at the scene.
