The drivers involved in a weekend accident in Marquette County have been identified.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says 64-year-old Cynthia Nyquist, of Marquette, was driving a 2008 GMC Yukon that hit a 2001 Mercury Sable station wagon, driven by 41-year-old Brady Walters of Eben Junction.
It happened Saturday night at about 10:15 at the four way stop at M-553 and County Road 480.
Police say Nyquist was cited for Failure to Yield in the accident that injured four people in the Mercury.
Nyquist’s SUV was northbound on M-553 when she hit the passenger side of a 2001 Mercury Sable station wagon traveling east on County Road 480, according to police. Four of the five passengers in the Mercury were taken to Marquette General Hospital for complaints of pain and minor injuries.
Nyquist complained of minor head pain but refused treatment at the scene. All drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts and the side impact airbag of the Mercury deployed.
The following agencies assisted at the scene: Michigan State Police,
Chocolay Township Police, Sands Fire/EMS, and Marquette General EMS.
