Cliffs talks on hold until October 8

Cliffs Natural Resources and the United Steelworkers Union will resume labor contract negotiations on October 8 in Duluth, MN.  Both parties agreed to a temporary recess from labor contract negotiations August 31.

Currently, Cliffs’ USW represented mines in Michigan and Minnesota are continuing to operate.

The parties have agreed that the Union will not strike and the Company will not lock out until 48 hours after providing written notice to the other party of their intent to be released from this no strike/no lockout commitment.
