GLADSTONE — Shortly before 12 p.m. on June 22, Gladstone Public Safety Officers responded to a call of an unresponsive female on a boat in the Gladstone harbor.

The female victim was identified as Lael Snow, 31 years old of Menominee, MI. She had been sleeping in the boat the night before and was found unresponsive when her companion awoke.

Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Drowning was not the cause of death, however the manner of her death remains under investigation. Gladstone Public Safety was assisted by the Michigan State Police at the scene and with the ongoing investigation.

Emergency medical staff from U.P. Health Systems-Rampart also assisted at the scene.
