Accident blocks Mqt. US-41 bypass
A rollover accident blocked a portion of US-41 in Marquette for more than half an hour this afternoon.
The accident happened at the US-41 bypass near Washington Street shortly before 12:30 pm.
The driver of a Ford Edge was merging onto the eastbound side of the highway.
Police say she did not see an oncoming Jeep Liberty and hit it.
The Jeep hit the abutment of the former Soo Line railroad bridge and rolled onto its side, but no one was hurt in the accident.
Police redirected eastbound traffic onto Washington Street until they could clear the crash scene.
The bypass reopened just after 1 pm.
