Man airlifted to hospital after ORV crash
NORWAY TOWNSHIP — A 31-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital after crashing his ORV into a tree.
According to the Michigan State Police, the accident occurred Saturday at 7:14 p.m. on the Norway Truck Trail in Norway Township. The ORV rider was southbound on the trail when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove into a tree.
The rider suffered serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
After arriving at Dickinson County Hospital, the rider was airlifted to a trauma center in Milwaukee, Wisc. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
