Tech men earn NCAA Tournament berth
INDIANAPOLIS — The Michigan Tech men’s basketball team has earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies will be the No. 6 seed in the Midwest Regional hosted by Bellarmine in Louisville, Ky.
Tech’s first-round game will come against No. 3-seeded Indianapolis. The contest will be a rematch of last year’s Midwest Regional Semifinal, when the Huskies defeated the Greyhounds 82-76 to advance to its first ever NCAA Sweet 16.
Bellarmine is the top seed and host institution. Other schools from the Great Lakes Valley Conference to make the field including No. 2 UW-Parkside, No. 3 Indianapolis, No. 7 Lewis and No. 8 Drury.
Tech is joined by fellow GLIAC members Lake Superior State (No. 4) and Ferris State (No. 5).
The tournament will tip off on Saturday (March 14). Game times will be announced tomorrow.
