Prison for Federal Child Porn Conviction
A Crystal Falls man is going to prison for 10 years on a child pornography-related federal charge.
In March, 64-year-old Philip Lampi pleaded guilty to receiving images of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
He’d been accused in the Iron County courts of 27 counts of possessing child sexually abusive material.
But the federal courts were allowed to indict him.
They have jurisdiction over child pornography cases.
Lampi’s Iron County charges have been dismissed.
The investigation grew out of a tip a concerned citizen made to the State Police last year.
