Second Adams Twp. snowmobile crash of weekend

Two people suffered minor injuries in a snowmobile accident in Houghton County Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened at about 12 noon on a pole line near Trail 3 in Adams Township.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says three snowmobiles were involved.

Two snowmobilers were parked on top of a ridge when a third machine approached them.

The third snowmobile malfunctioned and the driver couldn’t stop, hitting the other two snowmobilers who were parked.

Both of them sought their own treatment at Portage Health in Hancock for minor injuries.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

There’s no word on the identities of any of the people involved.

This is the second snowmobile crash of the weekend in Adams Township.

A Minnesota man was injured on Saturday when he lost control of his sled on Trail 3 and left the trail.
