Ishpeming man arrested in Marquette crime spree
The days of leaving your car unlocked in your own driveway are beginning to be the ‘good old days.’ Residents on Marquette’s East Side with unlocked cars recently found that out the hard way: when a number of items went missing.
An Ishpeming man has been arrested for the string of vehicle break-ins. The Marquette City Police Department says 21 year old Jesse Jay Croschere was arrested after a resident in the 400 block of East Crescent called police t report a prowler.
When police responded, they found a man who matched that description. When he saw the officers, Croschere was reported to have fled the scene. After a foot pursuit, he was captured.
Police say their investigation revealed that Croschere was going through unlocked vehicles, stealing anything valuable he came across.
The Marquette P-D says this is a preventable crime – simply lock your vehicle.
