Man charged in Marquette stabbing

A stabbing incident Friday night landed one man in jail and another in the hospital.  It happened at 10:30 p.m. at the Long Shot Saloon on West Baraga Avenue.

Marquette Police say 31 year old  James Earl Christensen is charged with felonious assault and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police say he allegedly stabbed a 42–year–old man multiple times at the bar and reportedly left the bar, but was quickly located and arrested.

He was arraigned this morning in Marquette and is lodged in the Marquette County Jail.

The victim was taken to Marquette General Hospital where he was treated and released with non–life threatening injuries.

The incident is still under investigation.
